Voicemail
Every user has a voicemail mailbox that belongs to their extension. A caller who is not answered can leave a message. You see the messages on the Voicemail page and can change your greetings and PIN in Settings > Voicemail.
Your mailbox

The Voicemail page in the browser.
- Messages are in three folders: new, old and saved. A message you have listened to to the end moves from new to old. The message-waiting indicator on your phone changes with it.
- Messages are kept for 90 days by default. Your administrator sets the company rule.
- If your company has voicemail-to-email turned on, the message also arrives as an e-mail with the audio attached.
Greetings
Greetings tell the caller why you cannot answer. In Settings > Voicemail you can record:
- the unavailable greeting, for when you do not answer;
- the busy greeting, for when you are on another call;
- the away greeting, for when your status is away;
- your recorded name, which is played before the standard words.
If you record nothing, a standard greeting is used.
PIN
Your voicemail PIN protects your messages when you call in. Change it in Settings > Voicemail. If an administrator resets your PIN, you choose a new one at your next sign-in to the phone menu. Three wrong PINs in one session count against a lockout that spans sessions.
Listening from a phone
Your company's call flow decides how a phone reaches the voicemail menu. Ask your administrator for the number or the key that opens it. The phone menu works with the keypad:
| Key | Main menu |
|---|---|
1 | New messages |
2 | Old messages |
3 | Saved messages |
4 | Greetings |
5 | Change your PIN |
* | Leave |
While a message plays: 5 replays it, 4 goes to the previous message, 6 or nothing goes to the next, 9 saves it, 7 deletes it, and # returns to the main menu.
In the greetings menu, 1 listens, 2 records and 3 deletes; after a recording, 1 keeps it, 2 records it again and # discards it.
Leaving a message
When a caller leaves a message, they hear your greeting, then a beep, and speak. They press a key to finish. If the mailbox is not taking messages, the caller hears that instead.
