Transfer, park and pickup
You can move a call to someone else, park it so anyone can collect it, or collect a call that a colleague parked or that is ringing their phone.
Transfer
- Transfer, now (blind): the caller goes straight to the target without you speaking to them first. Use it when you know the target will answer.
- Transfer after talking (attended): you talk to the target first, then connect the caller. Use it when you need to explain the call. If the target does not want the call, the caller is still with you.
In both cases the dock shows each step: requested, trying, ringing, done. A failure is shown in words, for example that the number is busy or does not exist. The call goes on if a transfer fails.
Park
Parking puts a call in a numbered slot, called an orbit. You can then collect it from any phone in the company.
- Dial
*00to*09(or press Park in the dock and choose the slot). The call is now in that slot. - Tell the person who should collect it the slot number.
Your administrator sets the codes and how many slots exist (up to 10).
Pickup
- Unpark: dial
*10to*19for the slot you were told. You take the oldest call parked there. - Directed pickup: dial
*20*and a colleague's extension to answer the call that is ringing their phone. Your administrator can put a key for this on a desk phone, so the lamp of the colleague's extension is also a button.
The dock's Park and pickup section lists these actions so you do not have to remember the codes.
Dial codes you may also use
These codes start with the company's feature-code prefix (* by default). They are set by your administrator. Examples:
| Code | Meaning |
|---|---|
*61 | Do not disturb on |
*60 | Do not disturb off |
Your administrator can also force the office hours open or closed for your company with the codes in the admin console. See the dial codes guide.
