Paging and shared park
Two features let operators reach a group of people or hold a call for anyone to collect: paging groups announce a message through the phones of a group, and shared park slots show on a busy-lamp key while a call waits.
Paging groups
A paging group is a ring group that works as a loudspeaker. When somebody calls the group's number, the phones of its members answer automatically, so the caller's message reaches the room. Use a paging group for a warehouse floor, a reception area or a department.
An administrator creates a paging group with a number and a list of members. Each member's phones receive the call with the auto-answer setting, so they open the call without anybody pressing a button.
Some members are not paged:
- A member who has turned on intercom privacy in their settings is not paged.
- A member in Do not disturb is skipped, unless the group is set to page them anyway.
If the members' privacy setting cannot be read, the member is not paged.
The caller is connected to the first member whose phone answers, and the other phones are cancelled. A listen-only broadcast to every phone is not available in this release.
Shared park slots
A shared park slot is a parking slot that everyone in the company can use. When a call waits in a slot, the BLF key for that slot lights up on every phone that has it.
To collect a waiting call:
- Press the slot's BLF key, or dial the slot's unpark code.
- The call is connected to you.
The lamp is kept in the phone's panel only, so after a restart of MonoPbx it lights again with the next change in the slot.
To park a call in a slot, see Park a call.
