Multi company

One MonoPbx install can host several companies. Each company's rows are kept apart by the tenant layer and by database row-level security, so one company cannot read another's calls, contacts, recordings or settings. This page covers how to run companies and give each its look.

The system console

Open Admin > Companies. Only a system administrator sees it; a company administrator never does.

ActionWhat it does
CreateName, handle (the subdomain, for example acme), default language and the first administrator. The administrator gets the Owner role and a one-time invitation.
RenameChanges the display name. The handle never changes.
Suspend and resumeA suspended company's accounts cannot sign in. Nothing is deleted. The default company cannot be suspended.
Switch intoOpens the console for that company. The switch is audited.
DeleteOnly for a suspended company. You must type the handle to confirm. All rows of the company are removed in one transaction.
AdministratorsAdd company administrators. Each addition returns a one-time invitation.

Invitations

The invitation opens on the company's own address, https://<handle>.<your PBX domain>/invite. The person chooses a password and, if the company requires it, sets up an authenticator app. The invitation expires after three days and is never stored in clear text.

Audit

Every change is written to the install-wide audit log: company created, updated, suspended, resumed, entered, deleted, and administrator added.

Limits to know

  • Deleting a company does not yet remove its files in the object store or its call history in ClickHouse. Remove those by hand under your retention policy until this is fixed.
  • Keep one DNS name per company handle pointing at the PBX.
